Godfrey Jackson Named New Assistant Athletic Director for ACHS and ACMS

The Adair County Schools are proud to announce today that 1985 Adair County High School graduate and stand out athlete, Godfrey Jackson, has been hired in the position of Assistant Athletic Director for ACHS and the Adair County Middle School. Starting immediately! Superintendent Reed signed and handed Godfrey his contract this morning. Godfrey’s  position is part-time but will include interaction with the schools and all sports related activities within the district and he will have extra duties such as helping Little League programs, to build stronger feeder programs that have similar expectations in line with our local school programs, among other various duties. We feel Godfrey is not only a great leader but a wonderful role model for all our student body. Godfrey currently works at as an Engineer at RECC, a referee for the 5th Region Referee Association, as well as serving as a board member within the association.  Godfrey’s other unique qualifications include experience as a police officer and corrections positions. We fell blessed to have such a well rounded, experienced individual joining the Adair County Schools team - We can’t wait to see the positive changes Godfrey will be a part of in the coming days and years! 

AC Schools Honored to Host KIDS Webcast at ACPC

Tuesday, August 18, 2015 the Adair County Schools were honored to host the August broadcast of Kentucky’s K-12 Education Technology Webcast at Adair County Primary Center. Department of Education staff from the Office of Knowledge, Information, and Data Services (KIDS) included: David Couch, Associate Commissioner of Education Technology, Dede Conner, Division of Enterprise Data Director, Phil Coleman, Division of Operations and Services Director, Mike Leadingham, Division of Engineering and Management Director, Chuck Austin, Office of Knowledge, Information and Data Services, Robert Hackworth, Division of Engineering and Management, Howard Keeter, Division of Engineering and Management, Andrew Liaupsin, Division of Operations and Services, Cameraman, and Laura Raganas, IT Academy Program Manager, Judy Evans, Region 6 KETS Engineer, while Alan Reed, Superintendent, Carla Perkins, Technology Coordinator, and Floyd Burton, Board of Education, Chairman, represented Adair County Schools at the table.

New Partnership between Adair County Schools and Cumberland Family Medical Center Inc. Annouced

Adair County Schools and Cumberland Family Medical Center, Inc. are pleased to offer a new system of expanded health care in our local schools for the 2015-2016 school year.  Along with the regular school nurse program, the addition of a Family Nurse Practitioner will allow for a high level of care within the school setting.  The Family Nurse Practitioner, Tiffany McMinoway, will be available during school hours on a rotational basis through our schools to provide preventative services such as well child exams and immunizations along with acute care visits.  Parents will have the option of allowing their student to be seen at school in the Healthy Kids Clinic in an efforts to provide more complete and prompt care, reduce time out of class for appointments, and increase academic opportunity.
