Mr. Reed's Comments ---

To all:

Yesterday afternoon our faculty and staff was shocked and saddened by the news of Mr. Michael Godsey's serious accident.

I, along with some others from our school district, drove to U of L Hospital to support the family. Their church family and relatives are here as well.

The family is deeply moved by the outpouring of love from all you, their school family.

The situation remains serious and the family is solid in their faith.

For now the family requests continued prayers. It could be sometime before a clearer picture emerges.

I am sure information will be shared as it becomes available.

This incident serves as another reminder about the fragile nature of life.

It was around 11 p.m. when we left to give the family privacy.  Again, they have lots of support.

Today we are all reminded to hold those we love close.  Be sure to remind them you love them and appreciate them.

ACES Has Great Performance in Regional Governor's Cup

Congratulations to the Adair County Elementary School Academic Team as they ended a very successful season at the Regional Governor's Cup Competition held at Gamaliel Elementary on Saturday, March 21, 2015.  With 14 schools being represented, the ACES Academic Team did an excellent job representing our school and district.  Top honors went to the Future Problem Solving Team as they were named Regional FPS Champions!  FPS Students are...Gracie Baker, Briley Burns, Madeline Hardwick and Elizabeth Smith.  They are coached by Jeana Pike.

ACES Leading the Way

The Adair County Elementary School is having huge success with an incentive program connected to two online programs, Lexia and Dreambox. Both programs are researched based and proven to improve academic performance.  Lexia deals with Reading and Language Arts and is aligned with Kentucky common core standards. The same is true with Dreambox, which is Mathematics based.

ACES students are encouraged to use the programs at home as well as at school.  Each student has a username and password enabling them to access the software that is located at school from any location. They are given weekly objectives connected to each program. Every student that reaches their goal for the week in either program receives a certificate during morning assembly. Principal Steve Burton has recognized as many as 90 students in one week.

This is a first for our School System and ACES is using the new access abilities to their fullest. To all the ACES students out there --- Keep up the great work!
