ACMS Grading Policy
In an effort to make sure our students are academically successful and prepared for the next grade level, we have focused on a school-wide grading practice. This grading practice will not only help our students in transitioning from elementary school to middle school, but also aid in the transition from middle school to high school. Our goal is for students to have a common accountability no matter which teacher or class they may have at our school.

Please take note of how each grade level and department weighs the importance of academic skills and conceptual understanding. This does mean summative assessments and tests will count for a large portion of their final grade in each class. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher or any administrator at our school.
MAP Benchmark Scores
The MAP test is an assessment administered three times a year for the purpose of tracking and monitoring student growth in Math, Reading, and Science.
